My sister FINALLY got to hold her daughter last night. She also got to help bathe her and kangaroo hold her (whatever that is).Today they put a tube down her mouth to her stomach to feed her that way, if she handles it well they will remove it and pull back the one in her nose and continue feedings that way. Today's update...I talked to my sister today and she said that Apryl is recovering well from surgery. The doctors did an echo cardiogram and she still has an open valve in her heart (they might go in and fix that...its a 15min operation but it takes hours to set the room up). So when I updated you yesterday I was a bit mis-informed. There wasn't a hole in her stomach. The meds she was put on for the open heart valve made holes in her intestine. Baby Apryl is doing good this morning. This weekend the found an open valve in her heart and started her on medication. Early this morning (about 1 am) they found a hole in her stomach and were going to do surgery. So...I checked out the presentation...twice...because I really couldn't decide which one was the easiest and which was the hardest. This is what I have come up with...I would have to go with Habit 3: View problems as challenges as my hardest. When something goes wrong I just think of it as another problem to deal with rather than something I can learn from...even though I think that comes later..
